Final Evangelion Film Finally Hitting US in August
Thrice Upon a Time
English speaking fans across the world have been hotly anticipating this moment. The final film of the Evangelion Rebuild series, Evangelion 3.0+1.01 (Thrice Upon a Time), is going to be available to the non-Japanese speaking world this August. Specifically it is releasing on August 13, 2021. If you are wondering how wide a release in theaters this will be then I have some interesting news for you. The worldwide release will be exclusive to Amazon Prime. The report out of Variety does not indicate that there is going to be a theatrical release of the film at this time.
So now the last Evangelion film will be released in English, what about the previous three films? Netflix is the current rights holder to the original TV series & the End of Evangelion film. They do not have the streaming rights to any of the Rebuild films currently. Fear not, if you haven’t seen them, and only watched the original series on Netflix, Amazon Prime is getting the rights to the other three films as well. Now to complete the viewing experience, you can start on Netflix and end your Evangelion watch along with Amazon Prime.
[UPDATE] – Check out the trailer from Amazon Prime below –
