Sakamoto Days First Trailer Drops

TMS has just released the first trailer for its upcoming action comedy series, Sakamoto Days. The anime is adapting the Weekly Jump manga series featuring the titular Sakamoto, a former hitman for the mob. He is now living out his days as the owner of a convenience store, caring for his wife and daughter, all while the criminal underworld is trying to drag him back into a life of crime either dead or alive. The series is known for its comedy action sequences of other hitmen coming to finish off Sakamoto, who walked away from his life of crime.

The trailer features some of the absurdist physical comedy the manga is known for. In one sequence, Sakamoto flips his double chin out of the way in order to dodge a bullet. A double chin he has gained during his time away from his life of crime. The first cour is set to release this winter on January 11th.
