The upcoming anime series Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle- has been pushed from its original July release into October, and from that the Summer 2020 anime season to the Fall 2020 season. With the current conditions of the world the production company behind the anime has elected to postpone the release.

On the official site the production committee released this statement –

Regarding the TV anime “Hypnosis Mike -Division Rap Battle- Rhyme Anima” scheduled to start broadcasting and distribution from July 2020, the safety of staff and cast is considered in view of the announcement by the government and various administrative agencies due to the spread of new Coronavirus infection We have decided to postpone broadcasting and distribution, giving top priority to health.

Another anime bites the dust for the upcoming season, and it probably won’t be the last. It will be interesting to see what the summer 2020 slate ends up looking like. Almost every theatrical release scheduled between June and July have dodged out of the way, but the T.V. side of things still has a chance. People, and otaku especially, are looking for anything to keep entertained. Losing out on that hungry audience will feel like a big miss for a lot of these shows.
